Students rated the level of difficulty, entry-level and minimum salary expectations and level of prestige associated with biology, chemistry, environmental science, geology and physics.<P>A full length report detailing the survey and its implications is featured in the May issue of the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/nagt.org\/nagt\/jge\/issues.html\"><em>Journal of Geoscience Education<\/em><\/a>.<P>Webinar details, registration and complete survey results are available\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.agiweb.org\/workforce\/currents.html\">online<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Mary Dereshiwsky<\/strong>, professor in the College of Education, presented \u201cStrategies for Effectively Mentoring Prospective Online Faculty\u201d and \u201cHow Mentoring Online Faculty Helps You as the Mentor\u201d during the Peer Mentoring Online Conference sponsored by the Learning Resources Network (LERN) on June 8 and 9.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<figure id=\"attachment_20058\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-20058\" style=\"width: 153px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-20058\" alt=\"Haley Holthusen\" src=\"http:\/\/stage.headlessnauedu-b6hgdzckfdgxgzhe.westus-01.azurewebsites.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/05\/Haley-Holthusen.jpg\" width=\"153\" height=\"225\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-20058\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Haley Holthusen<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><strong>Haley Holthusen<\/strong>, an undergraduate student in hotel and restaurant management, has been selected for the Sodexo Future Leaders Internship Program.\u00a0Holthusen\u2019s internship at the High Country Conference Center lasts ten weeks, providing her with exposure to the contract management services industry and various business functions including finance, sales, event management and planning, and food production.<P>Holthusen expects to graduate in December and plans to seek permanent employment with Sodexo while pursuing her master\u2019s degree.<P>The Sodexo Future Leaders Internship Program is open to college sophomores pursing a degree in an industry-related major.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p><a class=\"search-results-excerpt-link\" href=\"https:\/\/in.nau.edu\/news\/spotlight-6-16-2010\/\">Kudos to these faculty, staff and students Do you have a spotlight item to share with the NAU community?
