Stevenson<\/strong>, dean of the College of Social and Behavioral Sciences, published a multi-authored paper titled, \u201cToward an Affirmative Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender Leadership Paradigm.\u201d Published in the\u00a0<em>American Psychologist<\/em>, the American Psychological Association\u2019s flagship journal, the article is part of a special issue on diversity and leadership.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Allen Z. Reich<\/strong>, associate professor in the School of Hotel and Restaurant Management, along with co-authors Yueying Hazel Xu of Sun Yat-sen University in China and Ken W. McCleary of Virginia Tech, had an article accepted by the\u00a0<em>FIU Review<\/em>. The article is titled, \u201cThe Influence of Social Responsibility Image Relative to Product and Service Quality on Brand Loyalty: An Exploratory Study of Quick-service Restaurants.\u201dReich also had an article accepted by the\u00a0<em>Journal of Foodservice Business Research\u00a0<\/em>titled, \u201cRelative Perceived Product Quality: Increasing the Effectiveness of the Restaurant Planning through a More Effective Integration of the Competitive Environment.\u201d<\/li>\n<li>Three individuals associated with either the School of Forestry or the Ecological Restoration Institute received awards at the spring meeting of the Southwestern Section of the Society of American Foresters in Flagstaff April 9.\u00a0<strong>Tom Kolb<\/strong>, a professor in the School of Forestry, received the Outstanding Contribution to Forestry Award.\u00a0<strong>Bonnie Stevens<\/strong>, the institute\u2019s program director for public education and information, received the Outstanding Contribution to Forestry from Outside the Profession Award.\u00a0<strong>Michael French<\/strong>, a 2009 forestry graduate, received the Outstanding Young Forester award.<\/li>\n<li>NAU Debate Team members\u00a0<strong>Zoey DeWolf,\u00a0<\/strong>a junior speech communication major, and\u00a0<strong>Nicola Walters<\/strong>, a senior political science major, placed 39th at the National Parliamentary Debate Championship Tournament in a field of nearly 300 teams from across the nation.\u00a0They also attended the National Parliamentary Tournament of Excellence, a tournament to which only the top 60 teams in the country are invited. DeWolf and Walters have the distinction of being one of only five teams in NAU\u2019s history to advance into the tournament\u2019s elimination rounds, where they placed 30th in the nation.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Anamarky Zamarron<\/strong>, a dual HRM and finance major, is one of 32 students from universities throughout the U.S. to be offered an internship with the Hyatt Resorts<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p><a class=\"search-results-excerpt-link\" href=\"https:\/\/in.nau.edu\/news\/spotlight-4-15-2010\/\">Kudos to these faculty, staff and students Do you have a spotlight item to share with the NAU community?
