Panel discussions will be held after each film.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe look forward to hearing people\u2019s impressions of Spike Lee\u2019s presentation and ideas on how to continue the dialogue about racial and class issues on campus and in the community,&#8221; said\u00a0<strong>Jane Marks<\/strong>, director of the Martin-Springer Institute.<\/p>\n<p>The film festival was originally scheduled to be held before Lee\u2019s visit on Jan. 28, but was canceled due to extreme weather conditions.<\/p>\n<p>All movies will be screened at Cline Library Assembly Hall.\u00a0 Admission is free.<\/p>\n<p><strong>March 26<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em><strong>Do the Right Thing<\/strong><\/em><strong>,<\/strong>\u00a0<strong>7 p.m.<\/strong>\u00a0Rated R, 120 minutes<br \/>\nOn the hottest day of the year on a street in the Bedford-Stuyvesant section of Brooklyn, hate and bigotry smolder and build until exploding into violence.\u00a0A discussion will be led by Ricardo Guthrie, assistant professor of Ethnic Studies and Jane Marks, director of the Martin-Springer Institute.<\/p>\n<p><strong>March 27<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em><strong>4 Little Girls<\/strong><\/em>,\u00a0<strong>4 p.m.\u00a0<\/strong>Rated R, 102 minutes<br \/>\nA documentary about the notorious bombing of an African-American church during the Civil Rights movement.<br \/>\nA discussion will be led by Gretchen McAllister, associate professor in the College of Education.<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>Bamboozled<\/strong><\/em><strong>,<\/strong>\u00a0<strong>7 p.m.<\/strong>\u00a0Rated R, 135 minutes<br \/>\nA frustrated African-American TV writer proposes a blackface minstrel show in protest, but to his chagrin it becomes a hit.\u00a0A discussion will be led by students of POS 453 \u201cCritical Race Theory\u201d connecting\u00a0<em>Bamboozled<\/em>\u00a0to questions of race, violence, and belonging in the 21st century.<\/p>\n<p>March 28<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>She\u2019s Gotta Have It,\u00a0<\/strong><\/em><strong>4 p.m.<\/strong>\u00a0Rated R, 84 minutes<br \/>\nThe story of Nola Darling&#8217;s simultaneous sexual relationships with three different men is told by her and by her partners and other friends.\u00a0A discussion will be led by Marc Matera, assistant professor of History.<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>School Daze<\/strong><\/em><strong>, 7 p.m.<\/strong>\u00a0Rated R, 121 minutes<br \/>\n7 p.m., Cline Library Assembly Hall, free<br \/>\nA not-so-popular young man wants to pledge to a popular fraternity at his historically black college.\u00a0A discussion will be led by Multicultural Student Center and Black Student Union.<\/p>\n<p>For information visit\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.cal.nau.edu\/msi\/\">nau.edu\/msi<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p><a class=\"search-results-excerpt-link\" href=\"https:\/\/in.nau.edu\/news\/spike-lee-film-festival-rescheduled\/\">The Martin-Springer Institute has rescheduled its Spike Lee Film Festival, starting with\u00a0Do the Right Thing\u00a0on March 26 at the Cline Library Assembly Hall.
