{"id":19042,"date":"2010-03-11T13:02:18","date_gmt":"2010-03-11T20:02:18","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/stage.headlessnauedu-b6hgdzckfdgxgzhe.westus-01.azurewebsites.net\/?p=19042"},"modified":"2014-01-07T15:37:38","modified_gmt":"2014-01-07T22:37:38","slug":"haeger-unveils-innovation-fund-recipients","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/in.nau.edu\/news\/haeger-unveils-innovation-fund-recipients\/","title":{"rendered":"Haeger unveils Innovation Fund recipients"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A dozen \u201ctransformative\u201d project proposals are being awarded a combined $1 million in one-time federal stimulus dollars as part of NAU President\u00a0<strong>John Haeger\u2019s<\/strong>\u00a0Innovation Fund.<\/p>\n<p>The proposals were in response to Haeger\u2019s challenge\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www4.nau.edu\/insidenau\/bumps\/2009\/9_30_09\/forum.htm\">last fall<\/a>\u00a0for individuals and departments across campus to redesign undergraduate education at NAU to improve student performance and address needs of the 21st century.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAll the applicants should be congratulated for their ideas,\u201d Haeger said, adding that a number of themes emerged during this process, such as curricular redesign, sustainability initiatives, global engagement and major efforts to enhance student success. \u201cClearly innovation was at top of mind in these proposals.
