An advocate who represents wrongfully convicted inmates will discuss his efforts to prove their innocence at an upcoming lecture at Northern Arizona University.<\/p>\n
Mark Godsey, law professor at the University of Cincinnati College of Law and director for the Ohio Innocence Project, will present \u201cDNA and the Innocence Revolution:\u00a0A Prosecutor’s Awakening to the Problem of Wrongful Conviction,\u201d at a free public lecture at 7 p.m. Monday, March 22, at The W.A. Franke College of Business auditorium, room 101.<\/p>\n
Godsey represents convicted Ohio inmates for whom new evidence, such as DNA evidence, proves their innocence. His efforts have helped exonerate inmates wrongly convicted of such crimes as murder, rape and aggravated vehicular homicide.<\/p>\n
In 2008,\u00a0Godsey was elected to the\u00a0board of directors of the\u00a0Innocence Network<\/a>, the\u00a0organization representing Innocence Projects\u00a0in the United States, Canada, the UK,\u00a0Australia and New Zealand.<\/p>\n Recognized as a leading authority on wrongful convictions, Godfrey has appeared nationally on\u00a0Larry King Live<\/a>,\u00a0Dateline NBC<\/a>,\u00a0CNN<\/a>, Forensic Files, Court TV, the Oxygen Network, NPR and A&E’s American Justice, among others.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
