Jackson Lecture, \u201cRethinking Global Climate Justice: Capabilities, Vulnerability, and Adaptation,\u201d March 1 at Whitman College in Walla Walla, Wash. Schlosberg\u2019s talk is part of the college\u2019s\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.whitman.edu\/content\/climatechange\">Conversations on Climate Change<\/a>\u00a0lecture series.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Dennis C. Tanner<\/strong>, professor of health sciences, has published an article in the\u00a0<em>Journal of<\/em>\u00a0<em>Gerontological Nursing<\/em>\u00a0(2010, Vol. 36, No. 3). In &#8220;Lessons from Nursing Home Dysphagia Malpractice Litigation,&#8221; Tanner reviews the management of swallowing disorders in nursing home patients from the perspective of an expert witness in dysphagia malpractice litigation cases. He details what went wrong in the management of these patients&#8217; dysphagia and discusses what nursing homes could have done to prevent the tragedies.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>The\u00a0<strong>Service Professional Advisory Council<\/strong>\u00a0\u201cadopted\u201d five Flagstaff families for the Christmas holiday.\u00a0\u201cTo read the list of items that were needed from the various families was incredibly humbling,\u201d said\u00a0<strong>Jessica Fitchett<\/strong>, fiscal operations manager for the College of Health and Human Services and council member.\u00a0\u201cThe volume of gifts and the turnout for the gift wrapping party was more than anyone expected.\u00a0It was inspirational to see the campus community come together to help those in need.\u201d<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p><a class=\"search-results-excerpt-link\" href=\"https:\/\/in.nau.edu\/news\/spotlight-2-3-2010\/\">Kudos to these faculty, staff and students Do you have a spotlight item to share with the NAU community?
