{"id":18554,"date":"2010-01-25T13:59:47","date_gmt":"2010-01-25T20:59:47","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/stage.headlessnauedu-b6hgdzckfdgxgzhe.westus-01.azurewebsites.net\/?p=18554"},"modified":"2015-08-17T14:57:10","modified_gmt":"2015-08-17T21:57:10","slug":"president-receives-79-proposals-for-innovation-fund","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/in.nau.edu\/news\/president-receives-79-proposals-for-innovation-fund\/","title":{"rendered":"President receives 79 proposals for Innovation Fund"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A total of 79 proposals have been submitted to NAU President\u00a0<strong>John Haeger<\/strong>\u00a0in response to his call for \u201ctransformative\u201d ideas or programs that could be eligible for up to $1 million in one-time support from a new President\u2019s Innovation Fund.<\/p>\n<p>The\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www4.nau.edu\/insidenau\/bumps\/2010\/1_27_10\/InnovationProposals1212010.pdf\">list of proposals<\/a>\u00a0represent submissions from more than 125 individuals from throughout campus, with the majority coming from academic areas.<\/p>\n<p>Haeger established the President\u2019s Innovation Fund in the fall to solicit innovation in academic programs, business processes and university governance. The deadline for submissions was Jan. 15, and a final report is expected by mid-February.<\/p>\n<p>The proposals are being reviewed by Haeger and Provost\u00a0<strong>Liz Grobsmith<\/strong>, as well as by a subcommittee of the Strategic Planning and Budget Council.
