{"id":17909,"date":"2009-09-03T11:50:01","date_gmt":"2009-09-03T18:50:01","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/stage.headlessnauedu-b6hgdzckfdgxgzhe.westus-01.azurewebsites.net\/?p=17909"},"modified":"2015-08-17T14:56:11","modified_gmt":"2015-08-17T21:56:11","slug":"weve-got-spirit-how-bout-you","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/in.nau.edu\/news\/weve-got-spirit-how-bout-you\/","title":{"rendered":"We\u2019ve got spirit, how \u2018bout you?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>NAU\u2019s True Blue Fridays are back in full force this week as the university joins in a national celebration of school spirit for\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.collegecolorsday.com\/\">College Colors Day<\/a>, tomorrow, Sept. 4.<\/p>\n<p>Throughout the day, students, faculty, staff, alumni, organizations and businesses are encouraged to wear their favorite NAU apparel as a way to promote traditions and spirit on campus.<\/p>\n<p>In recognition of the fifth annual College Colors Day, NAU President\u00a0<strong>John Haeger<\/strong>\u00a0has re-issued his\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/stage.headlessnauedu-b6hgdzckfdgxgzhe.westus-01.azurewebsites.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2007\/09\/decree.pdf\">2007 decree<\/a>\u00a0that makes every Friday a \u201cTrue Blue Friday.\u201d Everyone at the university\u2019s Flagstaff campus and at NAU\u2019s community and branch campuses across the state is encouraged to show school spirit by donning and displaying the school\u2019s colors and logos.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"mailto:trueblue@nau.edu\">Submit photos of your group<\/a>\u00a0showing their school spirit for a chance to win the traveling NAU Spirit trophy. NAU enthusiasts also can join the True Blue Fridays\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.facebook.com\/group.php?gid=42711594857&amp;ref=search&amp;sid=27708241.834331821..1\">Facebook page<\/a>\u00a0for a chance to win prizes every first Friday of the month. And the \u201cprize patrol\u201d will seek out individuals wearing NAU gear on campus and throughout Flagstaff.<\/p>\n<p>College Colors Day coincides with the start of the school year and helps kicks-off of the college athletics season.
