The NAU Art Museum is throwing a Biennial Juried Ceramic Exhibition featuring work by 70 ceramic artists from artists across the nation, including NAU students and alumni.<\/p>\n
The exhibit will open with a public reception from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Aug.\u00a021, and will be on display through Sept. 19.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe exhibition is a tribute to the international standing of the university’s ceramics program and our Tozan kilns, as well as an opportunity for the northern Arizona community to experience groundbreaking work,\u201d said\u00a0George Speer<\/strong>, director of the NAU Art Museum.<\/p>\n NAU ceramic majors in the show include\u00a0Eugene Brosseau<\/strong>,\u00a0Tristyn Bustamante<\/strong>\u00a0andJames Coquia.<\/strong>\u00a0NAU ceramic alumni in the show include\u00a0Dennise Gackstetter<\/strong>,\u00a0Brian Harper<\/strong>,\u00a0Heidi Kreitchet<\/strong>,\u00a0Larry Meagher<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0Leslie Dawson Brier<\/strong>.<\/p>\n Renowned ceramist, Kurt Weiser, a Regents’ Professor in the ASU Herberger College of the Arts, juried the exhibition.<\/p>\n The event is free and open to the public with a suggested $2 donation.\u00a0The\u00a0NAU Art Museum<\/a>, located on the corner of Knoles Drive and McMullen Circle in the Old Main building, is open from noon to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday.<\/p>\n For information, call (928) 523-3471.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
