{"id":17398,"date":"2009-07-29T14:22:00","date_gmt":"2009-07-29T21:22:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/stage.headlessnauedu-b6hgdzckfdgxgzhe.westus-01.azurewebsites.net\/?p=17398"},"modified":"2015-08-17T14:55:33","modified_gmt":"2015-08-17T21:55:33","slug":"health-and-learning-center-plans-progressing","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/in.nau.edu\/news\/health-and-learning-center-plans-progressing\/","title":{"rendered":"Health and learning center plans progressing"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Plans for the new health and learning center at NAU are taking shape since the Arizona Board of Regents granted the university approval last month to proceed with the project implementation.<\/p>\n<p>NAU representatives will present the final design and cost specifications for the project to the regents at their Aug. 6-7 meeting at Arizona State University.<\/p>\n<p>If approved by the regents, the project will need final review by the state Legislature\u2019s Joint Committee on Capital Review.<\/p>\n<p>Pending the committee\u2019s favorable review, construction is anticipated to begin in October. Fencing at the site\u2014where the Recreation Center and Lumberjack Stadium currently stand\u2014could begin as soon as Sept. 15.<\/p>\n<p>The new facility is slated to open in August 2011.<\/p>\n<p>A web site has been set up with project updates and pictures of the proposed facility.
