Shadiow&#8217;s book draws on nearly three decades of teaching at NAU in order to guide other faculty in the process of thinking deeply about the relationship between teaching and student learning.<\/li>\n<li><b>Cyndi Banks<\/b>, associate vice provost and associate dean for University College, published a book on juvenile justice called <i>Youth Crime and Justice. <\/i>Banks also published a<i> <\/i>book chapter on international police ethics, called \u201cInternational Comparisons and Best Practices in Law Enforcement Ethics: Nigeria, Sierra Leone and Philippines,\u201d in <i>Law Enforcement Ethics: Classic and Contemporary Challenges for the New Millennium<\/i>.<\/li>\n<li>\n<p style=\"display: inline !important;\"><b>Madeline Friend<\/b>, a junior in the Global Science and Engineering Program with a double major in environmental science and Spanish, was selected as an Honorable Mention awardee in both the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.act.org\/goldwater\/index.html\">Goldwater<\/a> and the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.udall.gov\/OurPrograms\/MKUScholarship\/MKUScholarship.aspx\">Udall<\/a> national scholarship competitions. The Udall Foundation says Friend&#8217;s recognition speaks to her &#8220;tremendous commitment and potential.&#8221;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-15786\" alt=\"(c) Greg Glau\" src=\"http:\/\/stage.headlessnauedu-b6hgdzckfdgxgzhe.westus-01.azurewebsites.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/04\/WhoAmIGlau.jpg\" width=\"400\" height=\"266\" srcset=\"https:\/\/in.nau.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/402\/2013\/04\/WhoAmIGlau.jpg 400w, https:\/\/in.nau.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/402\/2013\/04\/WhoAmIGlau-300x199.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 400px) 100vw, 400px\" \/>NAU alums\u00a0<b>Greg Glau<\/b>, director of English Composition and associate professor of English, and\u00a0<b>Tracy Glau<\/b>, specialist at Cline Library, will host their fourth annual father\/daughter art show, featuring their photography and watercolor printed on wood, May 2 through June 30 at La Bellavia Restaurant, 18 S. Beaver St. in Flagstaff. An opening reception will be held from 6-8 p.m. during the May 3 First Friday ArtWalk.
