{"id":15026,"date":"2013-03-19T10:25:14","date_gmt":"2013-03-19T17:25:14","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/stage.headlessnauedu-b6hgdzckfdgxgzhe.westus-01.azurewebsites.net\/?p=15026"},"modified":"2013-12-03T14:42:31","modified_gmt":"2013-12-03T21:42:31","slug":"dance-team-hip-hops-way-to-national-championship","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/in.nau.edu\/news\/dance-team-hip-hops-way-to-national-championship\/","title":{"rendered":"Dance Team hip-hops way to national championship"},"content":{"rendered":"<table width=\"10%\" border=\"0\" align=\"right\" cellpadding=\"3\" cellspacing=\"3\">\n<tr>\n<td><script src=\"http:\/\/player.ooyala.com\/player.js?hide=channels&#038;embedCode=t4cWE5YTr78qipSfMMHNkyt5Nq1CPNo4&#038;deepLinkEmbedCode=t4cWE5YTr78qipSfMMHNkyt5Nq1CPNo4\"><\/script><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/table>\n<p>The Northern Arizona University Dance Team won the 2013 USA Collegiate Championship in the hip hop division, marking the team\u2019s first national title in program history. <\/p>\n<p>The squad defeated in-state rival Arizona, as well as five other Pac-12 schools in winning the team honor Monday in Anaheim.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I am so proud of this team,&#8221; said <b>Cassie Laughlin<\/b>, director of Cheer and Dance. &#8220;To win the program&#8217;s first national championship is a testament to how hard these girls work each and every day.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The squad returned from the UDA National Championship event in Florida this January with improvements in mind following its <a href=\"http:\/\/stage.headlessnauedu-b6hgdzckfdgxgzhe.westus-01.azurewebsites.net\/dance-team-hip-hops-to-top-10-finish-at-nationals\/\">sixth-place finish<\/a>.
