{"id":14740,"date":"2013-03-14T15:48:11","date_gmt":"2013-03-14T22:48:11","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/stage.headlessnauedu-b6hgdzckfdgxgzhe.westus-01.azurewebsites.net\/?p=14740"},"modified":"2013-03-29T14:34:43","modified_gmt":"2013-03-29T21:34:43","slug":"nau-graduate-programs-recognized-in-u-s-news-rankings","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/in.nau.edu\/news\/nau-graduate-programs-recognized-in-u-s-news-rankings\/","title":{"rendered":"Graduate programs recognized in \u2018U.S. News\u2019 rankings"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The physical therapy program at Northern Arizona University was among five graduate programs at NAU named in the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.usnews.com\/education\/best-graduate-schools\/articles\/2013\/03\/12\/us-news-releases-2014-best-graduate-schools-rankings\">U.S. News\u00a02014 Best Graduate Schools Rankings<\/a>, released this week.<\/p>\n<p>Physical therapy <a href=\"http:\/\/grad-schools.usnews.rankingsandreviews.com\/best-graduate-schools\/top-health-schools\/physical-therapy-rankings\">ranked 34th<\/a> in the nation on the publication\u2019s annual list that evaluates programs in business, law, medicine, engineering and education\u2014including specialties within each discipline.<\/p>\n<p>Other health sciences programs that made the list were NAU\u2019s <a href=\"http:\/\/grad-schools.usnews.rankingsandreviews.com\/best-graduate-schools\/top-health-schools\/pathology-rankings\">speech-language pathology program<\/a>, which ranked 106th in the nation, and NAU\u2019s <a href=\"http:\/\/grad-schools.usnews.rankingsandreviews.com\/best-graduate-schools\/top-health-schools\/nursing-rankings\">School of Nursing<\/a>, which ranked 127th.<\/p>\n<p>In other disciplines, NAU\u2019s graduate <a href=\"http:\/\/grad-schools.usnews.rankingsandreviews.com\/best-graduate-schools\/top-education-schools\/edu-rankings\">education programs<\/a> ranked 108th and the graduate program in <a href=\"http:\/\/grad-schools.usnews.rankingsandreviews.com\/best-graduate-schools\/top-science-schools\/biological-sciences-rankings\">biological sciences<\/a> ranked 160th in the nation.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNational rankings can certainly reinforce Northern Arizona University\u2019s reputation as an exceptional place to learn,\u201d said <b>Ramona Mellott<\/b>, dean of the Graduate College. \u201cIt\u2019s a strong complement to the testimony of our students and graduates, who routinely cite NAU faculty and programs across disciplines as being first-rate.\u00a0One of the strongest attributes of NAU\u2019s graduate programs is its faculty, who make themselves accessible to our students and prepare them for jobs as outstanding professionals.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The complete list of 2014 graduate school rankings is <a href=\"http:\/\/www.usnews.com\/education\/best-graduate-schools\/articles\/2013\/03\/12\/us-news-releases-2014-best-graduate-schools-rankings\">online<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p><a class=\"search-results-excerpt-link\" href=\"https:\/\/in.nau.edu\/news\/nau-graduate-programs-recognized-in-u-s-news-rankings\/\">The physical therapy program at Northern Arizona University was among five graduate programs at NAU named in the\u00a0U.S. News\u00a02014 Best Graduate Schools Rankings, released this week.
