Reese&#8217;s translation of Berlin poet Zehra \u00c7irak&#8217;s <i>Erinnerungspflegestudio<\/i> was titled \u201cMemory Cultivation Salon.\u201d Dalkey Press&#8217;s anthologies were reviewed by <i>The Independent<\/i> as &#8220;diversity and craft on display&#8230;. thrilling.\u201d<br \/>\n<P>Reese, who has been at NAU since 1990, also recently published an ebook of translations with T\u00fcbingen\/Germany&#8217;s Schiler Verlag titled <i>Kunst der Wissenschaft\/Art of Science<\/i>. Reese&#8217;s co-translator of this 182-page volume of prose, poetry and sculpture images by Zehra \u00c7irak and J\u00fcrgen Walter is Elizabeth Oehlkers Wright, literary translator and wife of Pulitzer Prize recipient Franz Wright.<P>Reese also is working with Schiler Verlag to publish her translation into German of <i>Putrefaction Live<\/i>, a 2009 novel by Flagstaff physician-author Warren Perkins.<\/li>\n<li>Following the delegation visit to <a href=\"http:\/\/stage.headlessnauedu-b6hgdzckfdgxgzhe.westus-01.azurewebsites.net\/nau-included-in-myanmar-higher-education-initiative\/\">Myanmar<\/a>, <b>Liz Grobsmith<\/b>, senior adviser to the president, and vice provost <b>Harvey Charles<\/b> visited schools in Turkey where they signed an MOU with Yeditepe in Istanbul\u2014formalizing a very long association. They also visited Bilkent University in Ankara, where they met with the director of the Fulbright Commission for Turkey. Lastly, they traveled to Burdur and met Mehmet Ozcan, who hosted them at Mehmet Akif Ersoy University where they discussed future collaboration.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Karen Pedersen<\/strong>, associate vice president for Extended Campuses, and <strong>Doug Small<\/strong>, director of strategic partnerships and business development for Extended Campuses, presented \u201cProcess Mapping\u2026Innovating to Support the Military Community\u201d at the Council for College and Military Educators Symposium in San Diego in February. <strong>Jim Johnson<\/strong>, manager of NAU\u2019s Military Initiatives, also represented NAU at the symposium, which is held each year to encourage success through education for the military community.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p><a class=\"search-results-excerpt-link\" href=\"https:\/\/in.nau.edu\/news\/in-the-spotlight-march-15-2013\/\">Kudos to these faculty, staff and students Do you have a spotlight item to share with the NAU community?
