The NAU Art Museum presents two related exhibitions, \u201cAcross Cultures: Fifty Objects from the Macy Collection\u201d and \u201cThe Aaron Macy Legacy Exhibition: Scholarship Recipients 2002-2010.\u201d\u00a0 The exhibitions run through Nov. 23.<\/p>\n
There will be a reception in conjunction with the College of Arts and Letters Homecoming Celebration from 5 to 7 p.m. Oct. 28 at the Art Museum in Old Main.<\/p>\n
\u201cAcross Cultures\u201d reveals the mutual influences of Eastern and Western artistic traditions, including those of Native American Nations, in contemporary painting, textiles, ceramics and sculpture. \u201cThe Aaron Macy Legacy Exhibition\u201d celebrates work created by recipients of the scholarship fund established by Douglas Macy in memory of his son, who was a graduate of NAU\u2019s School of Art.<\/p>\n
\u201cTogether, these two exhibitions make a powerful case for the value of collecting and philanthropy in the cultural life of a community,\u201d said\u00a0George Speer<\/strong>, director of the museum.<\/p>\n The NAU Art Museum is open from noon to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday and closed all university holidays. These exhibitions are free and open to the public with a suggested $2 per person donation.<\/p>\n The museum is located on the corner of Knoles Drive and McMullen Circle in the historic Old Main building.
