The conference, held in February, brought together researchers, teachers and practitioners to discuss the nature and future of design.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Karen Plager,\u00a0<\/strong>professor and graduate program coordinator for the School of Nursing and Health and Human Services, co-wrote\u00a0\u201cMadagascar Nursing Needs assessment: Education and Development of the Profession,\u201d\u00a0published in\u00a0<em>International Nursing Review<\/em>, March edition.<\/p>\n<p><strong>David Schlosberg<\/strong>, professor of politics and international affairs, presented \u201cFrom Environmental Justice to Ecological Justice,\u201d in a series organized by the Diversity and Social Justice Project at Hamilton College. He also presented \u201cIndigenous Struggles, Environmental Justice, and Community Capabilities,\u201d at the recent International Studies Association Conference. Schlosberg\u2019s book\u00a0<em>Defining Environmental Justice,<\/em>\u00a0published in 2007, will soon be out in paperback from Oxford University Press.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Lori Poloni-Staudinger<\/strong>, assistant professor of Politics and International Affairs, wrote the chapter \u201cWe All Need Friends: Elite Alliances and the Activity Choices of Environmental Groups in the United Kingdom, France and Germany,\u201d in\u00a0<em>Interest Groups and Lobbying: Volume Two-Europe<\/em>\u00a0published by Edwin Mellen Press.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Ana Caballero-Mengibar<\/strong>, part-time faculty and doctoral student in politics and international affairs, presented &#8220;Constructing Neo-Racialized Discourses and the Imagining of a Spanish National Identity,\u201d at the International Studies Association Conference in February.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Sheila Nair<\/strong>, professor of politics and international affairs, participated in two roundtable discussions at the International Studies Association Conference in February: \u201cPostcolonial Feminist IR: A Feminist Theory and Gender Studies Critical Scholarship Panel\u201d and \u201cEnvisioning Trajectories of Feminist Theory and Gender Studies.\u201d Nair also co-chaired a panel, \u201cMargins, Peripheries and Excluded Bodies: International Relations and States of Exception,\u201d at the International Studies Association Conference in February.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Roddy Brett<\/strong>, assistant professor of politics and international affairs, and\u00a0<strong>Frederic I.
