A panel of scholars will discuss the complexities of immigration around the world at the free \u201cHuman Mobility\u201d panel discussion at 6 p.m. today, March 4, at The W.A. Franke College of Business Gardner Auditorium.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe topic of immigration is very timely, given our location on the border and how the nation\u2019s economic crisis is impacting immigration,\u201d said politics and international affairs professor\u00a0Sheila Nair<\/strong>, a panelist at the event.<\/p>\n Rounding out the panel is\u00a0Raymond Michalowski<\/strong>,<\/em>\u00a0a Regents\u2019 professor of criminology and criminal justice, and invited speaker Cecilia Menjivar, a Cowden distinguished associate professor of sociology at Arizona State University.<\/p>\n The trio will touch on such issues as human rights, security, labor migration, and economic globalization.<\/p>\n The event is part of the Global Initiative Speaker Series, organized by the College of Social and Behavioral Sciences and the Center for International Education, among others.
