{"id":12381,"date":"2009-02-12T13:48:49","date_gmt":"2009-02-12T20:48:49","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/stage.headlessnauedu-b6hgdzckfdgxgzhe.westus-01.azurewebsites.net\/?p=12381"},"modified":"2015-08-17T14:37:00","modified_gmt":"2015-08-17T21:37:00","slug":"gold-axe-applications-due-march-11","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/in.nau.edu\/news\/gold-axe-applications-due-march-11\/","title":{"rendered":"Gold Axe applications due March 11"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Office of Student Life is asking faculty and staff mentors to encourage outstanding graduating seniors to apply for the Gold Axe Award by 5 p.m. March 11.<br \/>\nThe Gold Axe Award is presented each semester to seniors who have made outstanding contributions to the university in academic performance, service and extracurricular activities.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Because it is such a prestigious and highly recognized award, most recipients list this honor on their r\u00e9sum\u00e9 throughout their professional career,&#8221; said\u00a0<strong>Kevin Gemoets<\/strong>, coordinator in the Office of Student Life.<\/p>\n<p>Applications can be downloaded from the Student Life\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/home.nau.edu\/studentlife\/awards.asp\" target=\"_blank\">web site<\/a>,<br \/>\nand can be submitted in one of four ways:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>By mail to NAU Office of Student Life, Box 6015, Flagstaff, AZ 86011<\/li>\n<li>In person at the Office of Student Life, University Union room 105<\/li>\n<li>By fax: (928) 523-1425<\/li>\n<li>As an e-mail attachment to\u00a0<a href=\"mailto:Kevin.Gemoets@nau.edu\" target=\"_blank\">Kevin.Gemoets@nau.edu<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Students selected to receive the Gold Axe Award will be honored at a reception April 14, where they will receive a certificate and a custom gold-plated lapel pin in the shape of an axe.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p><a class=\"search-results-excerpt-link\" href=\"https:\/\/in.nau.edu\/news\/gold-axe-applications-due-march-11\/\">The Office of Student Life is asking faculty and staff mentors to encourage outstanding graduating seniors to apply for the Gold Axe Award by 5 p.m. March 11.
