{"id":12367,"date":"2011-02-23T15:48:19","date_gmt":"2011-02-23T22:48:19","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/stage.headlessnauedu-b6hgdzckfdgxgzhe.westus-01.azurewebsites.net\/?p=12367"},"modified":"2013-02-14T16:29:58","modified_gmt":"2013-02-14T23:29:58","slug":"regents-honor-brothers-for-decades-of-service-to-nau","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/in.nau.edu\/news\/regents-honor-brothers-for-decades-of-service-to-nau\/","title":{"rendered":"Regents honor brothers for decades of service to NAU"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Bruce<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0<strong>Robert Crozier<\/strong>, two well-known community members and long-standing supporters of Northern Arizona University, have been awarded the 2011 Arizona Board of Regents\u2019 Award for Outstanding Service to Higher Education.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Croziers\u2019 dedication to Northern Arizona University and higher education spans decades,\u201d said NAU\u00a0<strong>President John Haeger<\/strong>. &#8220;Robert worked at the university in a variety of positions, and both Robert and Bruce are contributors and tireless volunteers. The Regents\u2019 Award is well-deserved by these two individuals.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>ABOR President Emeritus\u00a0<strong>Ernest Calder<\/strong><strong>\u00f3n<\/strong>, who nominated the Crozier brothers for the award, also praised their efforts on behalf of the university.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBruce has played a critical role in advancing student interests through his work on Raymond Foundation scholarships and in his leadership of the NAU Foundation,\u201d Calder\u00f3n said. \u201cHe is a humble, quiet, \u2018go-to\u2019 person. Bob symbolizes NAU. In NAU\u2019s history, a few names will stand out, including\u00a0<strong>Joe Rolle<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Lewis McDonald<\/strong>\u00a0and Bob Crozier. Bob has been NAU\u2019s ambassador to Arizona and can be credited with our strong alumni support.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Bruce Crozier graduated from NAU with a bachelor\u2019s degree in 1954 and served on the NAU Foundation board for nearly 20 years. He established the A. Bruce and Margaret Crozier Scholarship Endowment in memory of his wife, Margaret, to honor her service to NAU and the Flagstaff community.<\/p>\n<p>Robert Crozier graduated from NAU with a bachelor\u2019s degree in 1953 and a master\u2019s degree in 1971. His near 40-year career with NAU included roles in Alumni Relations, University Advancement, Career Services and the NAU Foundation. Robert has been involved in building NAU\u2019s relationships with Flagstaff businesses, alumni, statewide organizations and legislative leaders. He established the Bob and Joy Crozier Leadership Award at NAU and recently was appointed a lifetime member of the NAU Alumni Association National Board of Directors.<\/p>\n<p>Regents awards also were presented to Stevie and Karl Eller of Tucson and Stephen Evans of Phoenix in honor of their contributions to the University of Arizona and Arizona State University, respectively.
