Mark Montoya<\/strong>, lecturer of ethnic studies, recently was interviewed as part of the upcoming documentary,\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/americandreammovie.net\/\"><em>Waking Up from the American Dream<\/em><\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>All 15 spring graduates in the Athletic Training program<\/strong>\u00a0passed the Board of Certification exam this spring and summer, resulting in a 100 percent first-time pass rate\u2014a first for the program. The national average for the first-time passing rate ranges between 50 and 82 percent.Additionally, a team of three NAU seniors in the program\u2014<strong>Samantha Gordon, Brandi Phillips,\u00a0<\/strong>and<strong>\u00a0Nicole Albright<\/strong>\u2014was<strong><\/strong>among 10 teams invited to the National Athletic Trainers Association Quiz Bowl in June, where the trio placed<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>fourth in the nation at the contest.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>NAU\u2019s Center for International Education<\/strong>\u00a0has quadrupled money awarded to its students\u2014to $39,500 in scholarships in 2011-12\u2014by the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.iie.org\/en\/Programs\/Gilman-Scholarship-Program\">Gilman International Scholarship<\/a>. The center revamped scholarship advising and resources in order to strengthen students&#8217; applications for what is considered the premier education abroad scholarship in the United States.
