Pima Community College and Northern Arizona University are partnering in a new initiative to increase the number of college students who obtain baccalaureate degrees.<\/p>\n
NAU President\u00a0John Haeger<\/strong>\u00a0and PCC Chancellor Roy Flores will participate in a signing ceremony to establish Pima2NAU, a new joint admission program, at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, April 6, at Pima Community College in Tucson.<\/p>\n Through Pima2NAU, students are admitted to Northern Arizona University while attending classes and receiving services at PCC. The joint admission program allows students to work toward a PCC associate\u2019s degree, and assists them in making a seamless transition to NAU, where they can earn a bachelor\u2019s degree at NAU in Tucson, NAU\u2019s Flagstaff campus or online.<\/p>\n While Pima2NAU students are attending PCC, NAU will provide them with advising, library services, a student ID and e-mail, and information about financial aid and scholarship opportunities.<\/p>\n \u201cWe continue to strengthen our relationship with Northern Arizona University to ensure that residents of Pima County have streamlined paths to bachelor\u2019s degrees,\u201d Flores said.<\/p>\n PCC and NAU have a long history of collaborating to support student success. Their efforts are taking on increasing importance as the need for educated workers in the state increases.<\/p>\n \u201cNorthern Arizona University has been offering alternative methods of attaining baccalaureate degrees for 30 years,\u201d Haeger said. \u201cWorking in concert with our partners at Pima Community College offers more options to Tucson-area residents who are seeking a path that is right for them.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
