{"id":1182,"date":"2012-08-10T16:29:11","date_gmt":"2012-08-10T23:29:11","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www2.nau.edu\/news-p\/wordpress\/?p=1182"},"modified":"2012-10-29T15:56:52","modified_gmt":"2012-10-29T22:56:52","slug":"nau-promotes-health-professions-in-phoenix","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/in.nau.edu\/news\/nau-promotes-health-professions-in-phoenix\/","title":{"rendered":"NAU promotes health professions in Phoenix"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Now that Northern Arizona University has\u00a0<a title=\"NAU launches health professions presence in Phoenix at premier venue\" href=\"http:\/\/stage.headlessnauedu-b6hgdzckfdgxgzhe.westus-01.azurewebsites.net\/nau-launches-health-professions-presence-in-phoenix-at-premier-venue\/\">established a presence<\/a>\u00a0on the Phoenix Biomedical Campus, a member of the university\u2019s leadership team has been assigned to bring more awareness to the programs there.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Christy Farley<\/strong>, vice president for Government Affairs and Business Partnerships, will devote additional focus to enhancing the visibility of NAU\u2019s physical therapy and physician assistant programs in the new Health Sciences Education Building in downtown Phoenix.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNorthern Arizona University has a long history of producing quality health care professionals in nursing, dental hygiene, physical therapy and other critical health programs,\u201d Farley said. \u201cWe are excited to expand access to these programs to Phoenix and to add new programs in high workforce demand areas such as physician assistants. These are high-quality programs in a fantastic new facility, and we\u2019re eager to let the world know about them.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Farley noted that the facility is operated in partnership with the University of Arizona College of Medicine, calling it \u201ca collaborative environment that is reflective of workforce expectations in the healthcare industry,\u201d as well as a wise use of resources.<\/p>\n<p>The first group of students has been admitted and will begin classes on Aug. 20.
