Parking Permit
Official NAU retirees, who are also NAURA members, are eligible for a retiree parking permit. If you and your spouse/partner are NAU retirees and each needs a parking permit, each retiree must have a lifetime NAURA membership OR pay annual dues each year.
- Life-time members
- Qualify for an NAURA permanent parking permit and only one sign-up is needed.
- Annual members
- Must renew their NAURA parking permit every year. The parking permit window matches the NAURA membership year of July 1 to June 30. If you do not want a gap in your NAURA parking permit, you will need to pay by June 30 but not before June 1.
- NEW Annual NAURA members – You can join NAURA anytime; however, it’s best to join between June 1 and June 30th to align with the NAURA parking permit yearly window of July 1 through June 30.
NAURA members who hold an NAURA parking permit must adhere to all parking policies. NAU Parking uses a License Plate Recognition (LPR) system which allows you to park one vehicle at a time in employee lots only parked with the plate facing the drive aisle. Parking stickers are no longer used.
To setup (annual or life-time members) or renew (annual members only) your NAURA retiree parking permit with Parking Services, you have two options:
1. Send your eReceipt or digital copy of your new NAURA membership card to ask.parking@nau.edu to have your NAURA status verified. Parking will update your status so you can go online and set up your NAURA retiree parking permit information. You can also request assistance from Parking Services with this process.
2. Go to the Parking Services office with a printed copy of your eReceipt or your new membership card. You can then set up your permit online in their office if you need assistance.
An NAURA retiree parking permit must be replaced with a purchased employee parking permit if the retiree is working at NAU more than 10 hours per week, teaching more than 3 hours, or enrolling in more than one class.
Keep in mind if your contact information changes OR the vehicle(s) associated with your parking permit change, you will need to update that information with Parking Services. Most information can be updated through your parking portal.
Any other questions pertaining to Parking Services policy for NAURA members should be directed to Parking Services at ask.parking@nau.edu or by calling 928-523-6623.
