ISSPIC XX (20)
October 4-9th, 2020
ISSPIC-XX, is the 20th incarnation of the International Symposium on Small Particles & Inorganic Clusters, a biannual topical conference focused on the fundamental aspects of this dynamic field (advancing methodology & its applications to key systems). ISSPIC is a focused and intimate conference with no parallel sessions, featuring Hot-Topics talks, vital Poster-Sessions, and conference outings.
We invite your participation. Come share your research and meet new collaborators in ISSPIC XX (20)!
Join us in celebrating the return of the ISSPIC Series to the Americas: We are fortunate to host a conference which emerged from the great conference of 1976 ISSPIC-I (Lyon-France, chaired by Jacques Friedel) and many more, including these decadal high-points: 1990 ISSPIC V (Konstanz-Germany, wherein the Krätschmer-Huffmann report ignited the fullerene (nano-carbon) revolution); 2000 ISSPIC XX (Atlanta-USA, the second USA-hosted meeting after VI–Chicago(’92)); 2010 ISSPIC XV (Oaxaca-México, the 3rdand most recent ISSPIC in the Americas); and now 2020 ISSPIC XX(20) (Arizona-USA, the fourth ISSPIC gathering in the Americas).
Let us celebrate great science in a great location: Arizona is the Grand Canyon State, in the USA’s Intermountain West region. Nestled in a ponderosa forest, the conference site is the original (1899) campus of the Northern Arizona University (NAU) in Flagstaff. The remodeled venue is the classic Ashurst Hall, which has accommodated historic events, such as the announcement of Pluto’s discovery (1930) at the nearby Lowell Observatory. NAU is proximal to the San Francisco Peaks (summit ~ 4000m), the Grand Canyon, & Oak Creek Canyon (Sedona), among only a few natural wonders, and is within traveling distance to Monument Valley, Canyonlands of Utah, Marble Canyon, Las Vegas and your hearts content of saguaro cacti. Travel to Flagstaff is accommodated via flight into Phoenix International Airport or directly to Flagstaff-Grand Canyon Airport (more details on buses and shuttles to come).
