He<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW7919051 BCX0\"> received his PhD in 2019 and <\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW7919051 BCX0\">has been <\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW7919051 BCX0\">a Research Fellow at the Institute for the Study of Global Antisemitism and Policy<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW7919051 BCX0\">.<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW7919051 BCX0\"> Pedro worked <\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW7919051 BCX0\">as Assistant Director <\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW7919051 BCX0\">at the Ackerman Center for Holocaust Studies where he <\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW7919051 BCX0\">taught courses on the Holocaust, human rights, Latin America, and Mexican history.<\/span> <span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW7919051 BCX0\">He was a<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW7919051 BCX0\"> fellow at the Institute for the Study of Global Antisemitism and Policy and the Institute for the Study of Human Rights at Columbia University. <\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW7919051 BCX0\">His current <\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW7919051 BCX0\">research focuses on Mexican antisemitism<\/span> <span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW7919051 BCX0\">as well as the phenomenon of forced disappearances and eliminationist violence<\/span><\/span><span class=\"EOP SCXW7919051 BCX0\" data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335559739&quot;:160,&quot;335559740&quot;:259}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class='shortcode-column-container'><!-- shortcode-column -->\n<div class=\"shortcode-column shortcode-column--count-2\">\n    \n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-portrait-image-sm wp-image-555\" src=\"https:\/\/in.nau.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/214\/Asya-Darbinyan-150x225.jpg\" alt=\"Asya Darbinyan\" width=\"150\" height=\"225\" srcset=\"https:\/\/in.nau.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/214\/Asya-Darbinyan-150x225.jpg 150w, https:\/\/in.nau.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/214\/Asya-Darbinyan-300x450.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 150px) 100vw, 150px\" \/><\/p>\n\n<\/div>\n\n<!-- shortcode-column -->\n<div class=\"shortcode-column shortcode-column--count-2\">\n    \n<p>2021-2022: Asya Darbinyan. She completed her dissertation in history at the Strassler Center for Holocaust and Genocide Studies at Clark University on the Russian Empire&#8217;s response to the refugee crisis during the Armenian genocide. His dissertation on \u201cThe Good Italian, the Bad German, and the Survivor: Narratives and Counter-Narratives of the Shoah in Italy\u201d explores the history and memory of the Holocaust in Italy by examining the experiences and testimonies of survivors. His work focuses on policy measures regarding antisemitism in contemporary Poland and Germany. He received his PhD in international relations from Florida International University in 2017.
