How to schedule an appointment<\/h2>\n
All our appointments are scheduled through our online platform, WCOnline<\/a><\/strong>. To access, log in with your NAU ID (ex: xy123). Navigate to the Fall 2026 General Schedule<\/em> to see a list of available Writing Assistants<\/a><\/strong> at our various locations<\/strong><\/a>. While all of our Writing Assistants can support students with developing their English language skills, Shannon<\/a> has completed specific training with the NAU Global Communications Center<\/a> to help students develop their English pronunciation and oral communication skills.<\/p>\nDuring a Language Support Services appointment, you can expect to:<\/p>\n
\n- Watch 1-2 instructional videos (~5 minutes each)<\/li>\n
- Discuss concepts from the video with your tutor<\/li>\n
- Complete targeted communicative practice with the tutor<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
First-time students will complete a diagnostic test by reading aloud two scripts to help your tutor understand how to best support you.<\/p>\n
If you miss a scheduled appointment without informing your tutor, you will not be allowed to schedule another one within the month. If you miss two scheduled appointments, you will not be able to schedule another one during the semester.<\/p>\n
