Northern Arizona\u2019s Logging Legacy <\/em>provides a visual story of more than 100 years of lumber and timber history and its impact on the communities of the greater Flagstaff area. It is now on display in Cline Library Special Collections and Archives (SCA) and <a href=\"http:\/\/library.nau.edu\/speccoll\/exhibits\/scaexhibits\/forestry\">online<\/a>.\u00a0 SCA houses numerous collections related to the history of northern Arizona\u2019s forests; these collections are available to the public for research.<\/p>\n<p>NAU student Alex Williams, SCA\u2019s 2024 Elizabeth M. and P.T. Reilly intern, worked closely with SCA staff to develop the <em>TIMBER! <\/em>exhibit.\u00a0 Williams, a senior from Phoenix, is pursuing degrees in Comparative Cultural Studies and History.\u00a0 While all NAU students are \u201cLumberjacks\u201d, Williams also demonstrates real-life lumberjack skills as the administrative captain of the <a href=\"https:\/\/legacy.nau.edu\/forestry\/resources\/clubs-organizations\/logging-sports\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">NAU Logging Sports Team<\/a>.\u00a0 In addition, she volunteers at <a href=\"https:\/\/azstateparks.com\/riordan-mansion\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Riordan Mansion State Park<\/a>, the 19th century home of the Riordan brothers, then owners of Flagstaff&#8217;s largest employer, the Arizona Lumber and Timber Company.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_10481\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-10481\" style=\"width: 300px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-10481 size-square-image\" src=\"https:\/\/in.nau.edu\/library-cline\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/336\/AlexWilliams1-300x300.jpg\" alt=\"Alex Williams looking at a large book.\" width=\"300\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/in.nau.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/336\/AlexWilliams1-300x300.jpg 300w, https:\/\/in.nau.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/336\/AlexWilliams1-150x150.jpg 150w, https:\/\/in.nau.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/336\/AlexWilliams1-600x600.jpg 600w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-10481\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">NAU student Alex Williams led the development of the exhibit.
