\n \nDavid Muench: The Allure of Light<\/em><\/h3>\nThrough August 2027\n<\/em><\/p>\nA new exhibit highlighting the work of renowned American landscape photographer David Muench opened this week at the Cline Library\u2019s Special Collections and Archives.<\/div>\n<\/div>\nIn 2022, NAU announced<\/a><\/u>\u00a0that Muench had donated his photographic legacy<\/a>\u00a0to Cline Library Special Collections and Archives (SCA). Regionally known for his numerous contributions to Arizona Highways <\/i>magazine, as well as his collaborations with the National Park Service, Muench\u2019s commercial success took him and his camera around the globe.<\/div>\n<\/div>\nThe SCA\u2019s new exhibit, David Muench: The Allure of Light,<\/a><\/u><\/i>\u00a0provides a glimpse into the photographer\u2019s decades-long career. The exhibit\u2019s title references Muench\u2019s signature approach to landscape photography, which he summarized in Arizona Highways\u2019 <\/i>December 2015 issue as \u201cthe idea of light defining the image.\u201d NAU student Niko Bare, <\/a>SCA\u2019s 2025 Elizabeth M. and P. T. Reilly intern<\/a>, applied his keen sense of aesthetics to selecting photographs for inclusion in the exhibit. A landscape painter himself, Bare is pursuing a degree in studio art with minors in museum studies and art history.
