The Wyss Scholars Program at Northern Arizona University

Supporting a new generation of conservation leadership

Since 2008 the Wyss Scholars Program for the Conservation of the American West at NAU has supported emerging leaders in the field of western conservation while they complete their master’s level degree. Wyss Scholars receive partial funding during their course of study, a $5,000 summer stipend for a summer internship experience, and a series of post-graduation awards that are contingent upon qualified work in the field of conservation. The scholarship program also engages the Scholars in leadership development opportunities and an annual retreat with Wyss Scholars from across the nation.

Who is eligible to become a Wyss Scholar?

First year students in NAU’s Master of Science Program in Environmental Science and Policy can apply for the scholarship.

Students seeking information about the program and application process may contact Dr. Tom Sisk or Cari Kimball directly.
