{"id":13,"date":"2018-08-23T09:53:14","date_gmt":"2018-08-23T09:53:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/vendor.hub.wp.nau.edu\/jump\/veteran-support-program\/"},"modified":"2023-09-06T20:43:57","modified_gmt":"2023-09-06T20:43:57","slug":"veteran-support-program","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/in.nau.edu\/jump\/veteran-support-program\/","title":{"rendered":"Veteran Support Program"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>Veteran Support Program<\/h2>\n<p>The Journey for Underrepresented Medical Professionals (JUMP) sponsors a Veteran Support Program (VSP) at Northern Arizona University (NAU). \u00a0This program is housed in the College of Health and Human Services.<\/p>\n<div><strong>The Veterans Affairs Coordinator will assist any U.S. Armed Forces Veteran and their dependents who are interested in, or are currently pursuing, a degree in a health profession.<\/strong><\/div>\n<div>\n<p><strong>The Veteran Support Program Scholars will be able to participate in:\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<ul>\n<li>Academic support tailored to the unique needs of Veteran students<\/li>\n<li>Guidance and educational support through your college career<\/li>\n<li>Peer-to-peer mentorship<\/li>\n<li>Professional Connections through program events<\/li>\n<li>Direction in navigating Veteran Administration (VA) processes and accessing VA benefits<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<h4>The VSP Coordinator<\/h4>\n<\/div>\n<div>Bobby J. Cast, MS is a Senior Chief Petty Officer in the United States Navy Reserves and is well versed in the issues that impact student veterans.
