Two-Step Verification is an extra layer of security to help protect your NAU account from unauthorized access. When logging in to any of NAU\u2019s supported systems with your user ID and password, you’ll be asked for a secondary confirmation. This secondary form of authentication could be a push notification automatically sent to your phone, a code displayed on a physical fob device or mobile app, a securely-stored backup code, or a bypass code generated by our ITS Service Desk.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n

Two-Step Verification<\/strong> helps improve the security of NAU’s most important data by providing an additional layer of authentication to payroll, student and financial data, and other critical information at the university. By having a secondary form of authentication, you can protect your account from unauthorized access if your password is ever compromised. Attackers attempt to get your password in many ways including guessing, phishing, and smishing attacks. They also look for reused passwords from other sites that may have been exposed in a security event. By having Two-Step Verification<\/strong> enabled for your account, if your password is ever exposed, access to your account and NAU data will be prevented.<\/p>\n<\/body><\/html>\n\n <\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n
