Connecting on Windows<\/strong><\/p>\n

From your desktop, click on the Wi-Fi<\/strong> icon (usually located in the bottom-right-hand corner). $\"picture$ <\/li>\n
A list of networks appears above the icon. Select the wireless network labeled NAU<\/strong>.<\/li>\n
To have your computer automatically connect to the NAU network when it is available check the Connect automatically <\/strong>check box.<\/li>\n
Select Connect<\/strong>. The Network & Internet menu opens.<\/li>\n
In the User name<\/strong> field insert your NAU UserID<\/strong> and in the Password<\/strong> field insert your NAU Password<\/strong>.<\/li>\n
Select OK<\/strong>.<\/li>\n
When asked to continue connecting, select Connect<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

<\/a>Connecting a Mac<\/strong><\/p>\n
On Windows and Mac, connecting to WPA2 networks at NAU only requires entering your UserID in the ‘Identity’ field, and NAU password in the ‘password’ field once you’ve selected the ‘NAU’ wifi network.<\/p>\n

Click the Wi-Fi icon<\/strong> near the right-hand side of the menu bar at the top of the screen.<\/li>\n
In the menu that appears, select Turn Wi-Fi On<\/strong>.<\/li>\n
Select NAU<\/strong>. If selecting NAU-Guest, you may be asked to accept the Terms and Conditions.<\/li>\n
Enter your NAU UserID<\/strong> in the Username<\/strong> field and your NAU Password<\/strong> in the Password<\/strong> field.<\/li>\n
Select Join<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

<\/a>Connecting an Android phone<\/strong><\/p>\n

Navigate to Wi-Fi settings and select the ‘NAU’ network<\/li>\n
Set EAP method to ‘PEAP’<\/li>\n
Set Phase 2 authentication to ‘MSCHAPv2’<\/li>\n
Set CA certificate to ‘Use system certificates’ for an additional layer of security.\n
\n
If this option is not available on your device: Set CA certificate to ‘don’t validate’<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n
Enter your NAU UserID in the ‘Identity’ field<\/li>\n
Enter your NAU password in the ‘Password’ field<\/li>\n
Anonymous identity can be left blank<\/li>\n
(If asked for domain enter nau.edu)<\/li>\n
Click the connect button on the bottom of the dialogue box and the connection is finished.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

When prompted with a certificate, select ‘accept’<\/li>\n
You should now be connected to the NAU network<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

Navigate to the wireless network selection area and select ‘NAU’<\/li>\n
In the ‘EAP Method’ field, select ‘PEAP’<\/li>\n

Set ‘Server CA Certificate’ to default<\/li>\n
Enter your NAU UserID in the ‘Identity’ field<\/li>\n
Enter your NAU password in the corresponding password field<\/li>\n
Anonymous identity field can be left blank<\/li>\n

Set Wi-Fi Security to ‘WPA & WPA2 Enterprise’\n

If there is a sole option for WPA2, select this<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n
Set Authentication to ‘Protected EAP (PEAP’<\/li>\n
Leave the ‘Anonymous identity’ and ‘domain’ fields blank<\/li>\n
Check the box for ‘No CA certificate is required’\n

If this checkbox is absent, set the CA certificate to none and leave the password field blank<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n
Set PEAP version to ‘automatic’<\/li>\n
Set inner authentication to ‘MSCHAPv2’<\/li>\n

How and When to Use the NAU Guest Wi-Fi Accordion Closed<\/span><\/h4>\n <\/span>\n <\/div>\n <\/a>\n

Who should use NAU Guest?<\/strong><\/p>\n
NAU Guest <\/strong>wireless network provides basic access to internet resources for all guests to NAU who do not have a NAU user ID and password and student devices that are incapable of authenticating with their NAU user ID and password on the NAU network. This connection only allows general internet access for Web http, https, and VPN. This is an open, non-encrypted network.<\/p>\n
Connecting to NAU Guest:<\/strong><\/p>\n
To connect to the network, navigate to your device’s wireless settings and connect to the NAU Guest<\/strong> network. You should be redirected to a the NAU Wireless Guest log in page to register for a guest account. An SMS message with a pin code will then be sent to your phone number. Please use that pin code and your registered email address to log in to the guest network. This pin code will be active for seven days and will allow you to connect up to five devices.<\/p>\n<\/body><\/html>\n\n <\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n

How to connect to VDesk (Virtual Desktop) Accordion Closed<\/span><\/h4>\n <\/span>\n <\/div>\n <\/a>\n

The NAU uses Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) environment allows access to a virtualized lab environment, including access to software normally only available on-campus.<\/p>\n
These instructions work for PC, Mac and Linux machines.<\/p>\n
To connect to vDesk, first visit https:\/\/apps.nau.edu<\/a> in your web browser.<\/p>\n
For help connecting to Azure Virtual Desktop: NAU’s Azure Virtual Desktop (apps.nau.edu)<\/a><\/p>\n
Accessing vDesk<\/h2>\n
Once you select the clients above, you will then be prompted to login. Please use your usual NAU credentials to do so.<\/p>\n

Once signed in you will be prompted with the DUO Security Authentication selection. Sign in with DUO and select the Vdesk – Full Desktop. If you are not currently enrolled in DUO Two-Step Authentication please follow these instructions before proceeding. Duo Two-Factor Authentication<\/a><\/p>\n

You will then be prompted to “Allow Local Resources”. Be sure Clipboard, Microphone and Printer are selected and press “Allow”.<\/p>\n
You may be prompted to login again. Use your NAU credentials to login and the Virtual Desktop will load.<\/p>\n

Note: If you experience issues with the VDesk such as no icons loading on the Desktop, you can’t access applications or you cannot save files properly, please follow these instructions.<\/p>\n
1. Close the broken Vdesk.<\/p>\n
2. Go back to apps.nau.edu<\/a> and choose “Select Default File Location”.<\/p>\n

ITS constantly monitors and maintains our systems, however at times our systems may experience malfunctions and the campus will be engaged in a lapse of service, or an outage. In the event of an outage, we keep the campus informed in many different ways.<\/p>\n

Phishing <\/a>is an attempt to acquire sensitive information such as usernames, passwords, and credit card details by masquerading as a trustworthy entity in an email or other electronic communication.<\/p>\n
If you see any suspicious activity,report the phish immediately<\/strong><\/a>; if a phish is identified quickly, other users who may have been targeted may be defended as well.<\/p>\n

Two-Step Verification is an extra layer of security to help protect your NAU account from unauthorized access. When logging in to any of NAU’s supported systems with your NAU User ID and password, you will be asked for secondary confirmation. This secondary form of authentication could be a push notification automatically sent to your phone, a code displayed on a physical fob device or mobile app, a securely-stored backup code, or a bypass code generated by the ITS Service Desk.<\/p>\n
