Starting Wednesday, August 19, 2020, NAU ITS will no longer be offering two-year TLS (Transport Layer Security) certificates. This change only applies to public TLS certificates. The date was set by Sectigo, our TLS certificate issuing authority, and is a direct response to the changes Apple announced earlier this year.
At this time, Apple, Google, and Mozilla have issued statements that their browsers will not trust two-year TLS certificates issued after August 30, 2020. Two-year TLS certificates issued prior to August 30, 2020, will continue to be trusted browsers. For more information regarding this change, feel free to view these related articles:
