For Lumberjacks who are still trying to find an internship, job, or need interview preparation, NAU’s Career Development office is open and has transitioned online. Emily McCarthy, Director of Career Development at NAU, communicated with NAU ITS that all individual student career advising appointments, Career Education Workshops, and internal meetings have moved to Zoom.
McCarthy also mentioned that Career Development has deployed over 30 online “Career Steps” learning modules for Lumberjacks through Soft Chalk and Blackboard Learn. With the help of faculty partners, Career Development promotes these videos, and even initiated a contest encouraging engagement.
Additionally, Career Development has made it a priority to keep their website updated, and encourage students to continue to utilize Handshake, their career management and recruitment platform. Handshake is a useful resource for students to find jobs, internships, and be able to schedule appointments with Career Development.
