A recent Google Chrome update released in early March has been identified as a critical patch for a vulnerability that was actively being attacked at the time. ITS strives to provide automatic updates to supported software and web browsers and is coordinating that update. If you are not currently running the most recent version, please update as soon as possible. The update should be applied to all instances of the browser, even at home.
The current version is 72.0.3626.121. The update should push automatically, but if it hasn’t been applied you will see a red circle with an arrow in the upper-right corner.
How to check your version
- Click the three vertical dots in the upper-right corner to open the “Customize and control Google Chrome” menu.
- Select Help from the menu.
- Select About Google Chrome. The current version is displayed.
