Activities will help children value their home language and personal stories, strengthening their identity and self-esteem. The seminar concludes with developing a long-term curriculum plan that uses bookmaking to sustain and celebrate ancestral language throughout the year.

IECE Seminar Schedule 2026*

Downloadable PDF above *please share with your administrator

Benefits of the program

Increased knowledge of best practices in culturally responsive early childhood curriculum development

Completion of a published, self-authored curriculum unit for use in your classroom

Receive a certificate of completion indicating the amount of professional development hours earned.

Access to colleague’s self-authored curriculum units for use in your classroom

Networking and learning from other early childhood educators in Native-serving preschools

A stipend of $800 provided upon program completion

Would you like to stay up-to-date on all things related to the Institute for Native-serving Educators?
