Teaching in Indigenous Communities (TIIC) Certificate<\/h2>\n

Do you want to teach or work with youth and families in Indigenous communities? <\/strong><\/h4>\n

If you answered yes, <\/strong>then this undergraduate certificate is for YOU!<\/strong><\/h4>\n

The TIIC was developed by faculty in the College of education, Applied Indigenous Studies, and the Institute for Native-serving Educators to provide a culturally responsive set of courses that will better prepare students who want to work in Native-serving schools.<\/p>\n

If you are interested developing understandings around reciprocity, cultural responsiveness, and building meaningful relationships with and in Native communities, the Teaching in Indigenous Communities (TIIC) certificate is for you! This program is open to all undergraduate students, regardless of your degree plan. The TIIC certificate requires 18 credit hours of specialized coursework. Most of this coursework is already required of students in the Elementary Education, Special Elementary Education, and Special Early Childhood Education programs, making the TIIC certificate a nearly seamless addition to these programs.<\/p>\n
