Held from June 2-4, 2024 at the Wild Horse Pass Resort in Chandler, AZ, the conference featured keynote talks by self-advocates Mike May and Nina G, as well as 60 educational sessions and an exhibit hall featuring 50 assistive technology companies, government agencies, and disability organizations.<\/p>\n<p>Other highlights this year included:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>free exhibit hall entry on Monday afternoon;<\/li>\n<li>a networking reception featuring a comedy performance by Nina G;<\/li>\n<li>a unique collaboration with the Center for Assistive Technology Training (CATT) at the Foundation for Blind Children;<\/li>\n<li>a sponsorship by the Arizona Developmental Disabilities Planning Council (ADDPC) that brought a team from Marc Gold &amp; Associates to present sessions on the topic of customized employment;<\/li>\n<li>sponsorship and support from Collaborative Technology Solutions;<\/li>\n<li>the introduction of day-long, four-session strands that provided participants the opportunity to gain in-depth knowledge about select topics; and<\/li>\n<li>NEW roundtable discussions that allowed attendees to share stories and experiences with other participants.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Participants had the opportunity to earn continuing education (CE) credits and to network with others who share a passion for creating a more inclusive world for people with disabilities.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-5164 alignleft\" src=\"https:\/\/in.nau.edu\/institute-human-development\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/347\/87f69198-e65c-4d85-84c5-e03a6979965e-600x400.jpg\" alt=\"wide shot of stage at IHD conference showing the screen and audience members\" width=\"375\" height=\"250\" srcset=\"https:\/\/in.nau.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/347\/87f69198-e65c-4d85-84c5-e03a6979965e-600x400.jpg 600w, https:\/\/in.nau.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/347\/87f69198-e65c-4d85-84c5-e03a6979965e-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/in.nau.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/347\/87f69198-e65c-4d85-84c5-e03a6979965e-1024x683.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/in.nau.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/347\/87f69198-e65c-4d85-84c5-e03a6979965e-768x512.jpg 768w, https:\/\/in.nau.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/347\/87f69198-e65c-4d85-84c5-e03a6979965e.jpg 1536w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 375px) 100vw, 375px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Since its inception a quarter of a century ago, the IHD disability conference has been a collaboration between the Arizona Technology Access Program (AzTAP) at IHD, the Arizona Department of Education \u2013 Exceptional Student Services (ADE-ESS), and our state\u2019s Rehabilitation Services Administration (RSA).<\/p>\n<p>We are pleased to report that attendees expressed high levels of satisfaction with the conference, with 98% of survey respondents agreeing or strongly agreeing that their overall impression was high.
