After conducting two trial phases over the past year as well as hosting information and training sessions for vocational rehabilitation (VR) counselors, support staff, and assistive technology (AT) vendors, ATEI has now fully assumed responsibility for providing AT equipment and services to VR clients across the state!<\/p>\n<p>Established in 2022, ATEI is funded through a four-year, $5M contract with the Arizona Economic Security and Rehabilitation Services Administration (RSA). Some of ATEI\u2019s comprehensive AT services include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>comprehensive assessments;<\/li>\n<li>client AT device training;<\/li>\n<li>product installation services;<\/li>\n<li>technical assistance; and<\/li>\n<li>client-specific AT and bulk product purchases.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-4783 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/in.nau.edu\/institute-human-development\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/347\/IMG_9712-960x384.jpg\" alt=\"5 adults sitting around a round table smiling.\" width=\"478\" height=\"191\" srcset=\"https:\/\/in.nau.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/347\/IMG_9712-960x384.jpg 960w, https:\/\/in.nau.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/347\/IMG_9712-465x186.jpg 465w, https:\/\/in.nau.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/347\/IMG_9712-1440x576.jpg 1440w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 478px) 100vw, 478px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>In January 2024 alone, ATEI received 53 referrals, performed over 360 hours of evaluation services, and provided clients with 125+ pieces of AT equipment valued at over $35,000.<\/p>\n<p>Most importantly, VR clients are receiving the AT support they need. In recent surveys, clients have stated: \u201cI feel more confident in my ability to reach my fullest potential\u201d and \u201cI appreciate the difference it makes in my quality of life.
