<\/h1>\n<\/h1>\nSupporting College Access, Learning, and Employment (SCALE) is a U.S. Department of Education grant-funded program with the mission of empowering individuals with intellectual disabilities to participate and thrive in higher education experiences. We work closely with local college campuses in Arizona to deliver personalized academic support services and resources. SCALE students learn and engage with their non-disabled peers in inclusive academic settings. Each student is matched with a support team to create their individualized transition plan. The support team offers support through every phrase of transition, beginning with college preparation skill building; enrolling in and funding college; pursuing appropriate and necessary on-campus services and resources; career preparation; and finding gainful employment opportunities.<\/p>\n Additionally, SCALE students benefit from establishing relationships with peer mentors. Peer mentors are current college students interested in building connections with students with intellectual disabilities. SCALE students attend a variety of campus events, participate in student clubs and intramural sports, and connect with each other several times a year to experience life as a college student in a fun and exciting way.<\/p>\n Our program partners with on-campus resources, such as\u00a0TRiO Student Support Services<\/a>,\u00a0Student Affairs<\/a>, and\u00a0Disability Resources<\/a> to obtain current information about changes impacting students or to seek advice on matters specific to student\u2019s needs or goals.<\/p>\n Through support from our community partners, SCALE is pleased to offer the Accessible Learning and Inclusive Guidelines for Network Success (ALIGNS) workbook. This free, online workbook incorporates SCALE’s proven model strategies for inclusive transition and is designed to assist students with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I\/DD) transition to college. This guide is also recommended for families, community members, and professionals interested in supporting transitioning youth with I\/DD.
