 <\/p>\n

Special Education Learning Experiences for Competency in Teaching (SELECT<\/strong>) is sponsored by the Arizona Department of Education<\/a> and offered through the Institute for Human Development<\/a> at Northern Arizona University. SELECT courses are recommended for teachers, administrators, related-service personnel, paraeducators, and other interested individuals.<\/p>\n

Candidates can take SELECT classes for free as a professional growth<\/strong> student; seat hour certificates awarded to those who finish will be accepted by the Arizona Department of Education Certification Unit<\/a> towards the professional development requirements for certificate renewal. SELECT seat hour certificates are also accepted for salary schedule advancement\/placement at certain Arizona public school districts, check with your HR department. Some SELECT courses may require textbook purchase. Please reach out to SELECT@nau.edu<\/a> to inquire about possible textbook requirements for the course(s) you are interested in.<\/p>\n

SELECT classes can be taken for university credit by professionals who are required by their school districts to have official transcripts<\/strong> and for those who may need to transfer hours out of state (tuition and associated fees apply<\/strong>).<\/p>\n

SELECT courses are graduate-level, self-paced online classes with a weekly time commitment. <\/strong>We suggest limiting to two classes per session.\u00a0<\/strong><\/h5>\n

There are two ways to register for SELECT courses – Professional growth<\/a> (certificate of contact seat hours) OR for NAU academic credit<\/a> (official transcript).<\/p>\n
