Biography

Selina Marie Wong is a middle school counselor in Flagstaff, Arizona.  She earned a bachelor’s in history, specializing in US history, from ASU in December 2011 and earned her master’s in education, specializing in school counseling in May 2014.  She has been an educator for most of her life and has spent most of that time as a school counselor with experience in both elementary and secondary schools.  She is a native Arizonan who has always had a passion for history, people, and culture, fostered by her history loving dad.  After working with so many different students, she realized that her students were some of her greatest teachers, simply by sharing parts of their own lives and cultures.  This realization coupled with her passion for culture, people, and history are what led her to apply to and participate in the Indian Country School Counselor Institute through NAU.  She enjoys spending time outdoors exploring the beautiful Flagstaff area with her husband, son, and dog.
