Office of Inclusion
Women’s History Month 2024 Events
March is designated Women’s History Month by Presidential Proclamation, and each year, the Office of Inclusion (IMQ) as well as the greater NAU community offers a series of programs and events to honor and celebrate the achievements of women who have faced challenges, conquered barriers, and worked to improve the world for all women. Women’s History Month coincides with International Women’s Day on March 8.
Celebrating Women Who Tell Stories
In support of Women’s History Month, the Library has partnered with the Commission on the Status of Women (CSW) to fund and curate a pop-up feature collection of contemporary, high interest popular and award-winning book titles which celebrate women who tell our stories.
The collection which includes fiction, nonfiction, history, poetry, memoirs, and more which are by and about woman can be found next to the comfortable chairs on the left-hand side as you enter the library.
The pop-up is part of the larger highly popular Inclusive Excellence Collection, which is located on the first floor. This collection is intended to make sure all students see themselves reflected in our collections and spaces and increase the visibility of the diverse groups that these collections represent. As well as provide opportunities for us all to learn from and about each other.
Links to these collections can be found on the supporting guide that further connect students to the wide range of rich materials that the library provides, including films and documentaries.
