The IHCF has been serving the Flagstaff community for more than 40 years, and houses multiple high-powered microscopes, ancillary equipment, and histological equipment to meet the diverse research needs of university faculty, students, and industry partners.<\/p>\n<p>The IHCF is equipped with a scanning electron microscope, transmission electron microscope, and a confocal microscope as well as specimen preparation areas.<\/p>\n<h2>Electron microscopes<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Zeiss Supra 40VP field emission scanning electron microscope (SEM)\n<ul>\n<li>Backscattered electron detectors-AsB and Robinson<\/li>\n<li>Secondary electron detectors-Everhart Thornley and InLens<\/li>\n<li>Variable pressure analysis of non-conducting and wet specimens<\/li>\n<li>Thermo Scientific UltraDry energy dispersive x-ray spectrometer (EDS)<\/li>\n<li>Thermo Scientific MagnaRay wavelength dispersive x-ray spectrometer (WDS)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>JEOL JEM 1200EX-II transmission electron microscope (TEM)<\/li>\n<li>JEOL JSM-6480LV SEM\n<ul>\n<li>Oxford Inca X-Sight EDS<\/li>\n<li>Oxford Inca Wave WDS<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Cameca SX-50 microprobe<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Sample preparation equipment<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Pelco CPD-2 critical point dryer<\/li>\n<li>Emitech K750 freeze dryer<\/li>\n<li>Denton Vacuum Desk II cold sputter etch unit with carbon evaporation accessory<\/li>\n<li>Reichert-Jung Ultracut E ultramicrotome<\/li>\n<li>Leica EM UC7 ultramicrotome<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Microscopes<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Leitz Arisoplan Variophot light microscope<\/li>\n<li>Zeiss Discovery.
