ROAs are for Benefit-eligible employees to request time off for sick, vacation, compensatory, bereavement, jury duty and leave without pay online. When an employee wants to take time off work, he or she will submit an ROA for up to one year in the future. Upon submission, this request will send an email to their supervisor for approval. They may also assign a proxy to approve in their absence.<\/p>\n<p>Instructions for approving time can be found here: <a title=\"Written\" href=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/5\/2018\/07\/Fluid-Reports-To-Supervisors-Employee-Approval.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Written<\/a> and <a title=\"Video\" href=\"https:\/\/in.nau.edu\/human-resources\/approving-updating-time-video\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Video<\/a><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>Instructions for assigning a <a title=\"Proxy\" href=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/5\/2018\/07\/Setting-up-a-Proxy-ek.docx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Proxy<\/a><\/p>\n<h3>Changing or Deleting a Request of Absence<\/h3>\n<p>Prior to making any changes to a timesheet, we recommend that the employee and the supervisor have a conversation about the change.<\/p>\n<p>To change a time off request, the supervisor or employee may go into a timesheet and update hours and\/or time reporting codes.\u00a0 Once the data has been updated, hit submit to save the changes.\u00a0 After submission, the time will need to be approved.<\/p>\n<p>To delete a time off request, the employee or supervisor should hit the minus button on the right hand side of the timesheet to delete the leave row, then hit submit to save the change. Any approved time off request that has been deleted will be marked with an exception notice on the timesheet to the supervisor.\u00a0 The supervisor may mark this exception as allowable.<\/p>\n<h4>Leave Accrual Policies<\/h4>\n<p>For help calculating your accrual rate for both vacation and sick leave, review the policies below.<\/p>\n<p><a title=\"4.02 Vacation\" href=\"https:\/\/nau.edu\/university-policy-library\/hr_4-02\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">4.02 Vacation<\/a><br \/>\n<a title=\"4.03 Sick Leave\" href=\"https:\/\/nau.edu\/university-policy-library\/hr_4-03\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">4.03 Sick Leave<\/a><\/p>\n<h3>Policies Relating to Leave:<\/h3>\n<p><a title=\"Section four\" href=\"https:\/\/nau.edu\/university-policy-library\/human-resources\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Section four<\/a> of the policy manual covers the various leave types such as: holiday, vacation, sick leave, leaves of absence, and other types of leave.
