{"id":2158,"date":"2018-07-16T11:19:08","date_gmt":"2018-07-16T18:19:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/vendor.hub.wp.nau.edu\/human-resources\/post-retirement-benefits\/"},"modified":"2024-02-06T13:48:18","modified_gmt":"2024-02-06T20:48:18","slug":"post-retirement-benefits","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/in.nau.edu\/human-resources\/post-retirement-benefits\/","title":{"rendered":"Benefits &#8211; Post Retirement Benefits"},"content":{"rendered":"<h1>Post Retirement Benefits<\/h1>\n<h4>Arizona State Retirement System (ASRS)<\/h4>\n<p>If you retire through ASRS you will be eligible for the following benefits at retirement:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Monthly pension benefit for life<\/li>\n<li>Group medical, dental, and vision insurance available<\/li>\n<li>Subsidy toward monthly health \u00a0insurance premiums for State of Arizona Retiree Group Health Insurance plans<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div>\n<h4>Optional Retirement Program (ORP) Retirees<\/h4>\n<\/div>\n<div>If you retire through ORP you will be eligible for the following benefits at retirement:<\/div>\n<ul>\n<li>Retiree&#8217;s account balance<\/li>\n<li>Group medical, dental, and vision insurance available through the State of Arizona Retiree Group Health Insurance plans<\/li>\n<li>ORP Retirees are not eligible for the monthly subsidy for health insurance premiums.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4>Life Insurance<\/h4>\n<div>If you were enrolled in The Hartford Supplemental Life insurance as an active employee you will be eligible to elect $15,000 of term life insurance at retirement. The premium is $245.00 annually.<\/div>\n<h3>Important Information for COBRA participants and retirees:<\/h3>\n<div>\n<div>\n<div>\n<ul>\n<li>Only active employees and non-Medicare retirees can be seen at <a href=\"https:\/\/in.nau.edu\/campus-health-services\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Campus Health Services.<\/a><\/li>\n<li>Active employees, Cobra participants and all NAU retirees can utilize Employee Assistance and Wellness.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<h4>Additional retiree benefits through the Arizona Board of Regents (ABOR)<\/h4>\n<div>\n<div><strong>To be eligible for these benefits, retirees must:<\/strong><\/div>\n<div>\n<ul>\n<li>have completed at least five (5) years of benefit eligible employment in the Arizona university system immediately preceding retirement<\/li>\n<li>be receiving a retirement income from an Arizona university sponsored retirement program<\/li>\n<li>be at least fifty (50) years of age, and<\/li>\n<li>must have not been terminated for cause<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<p>Your ID card will be are automatically updated to retiree status. You must keep your ID to be eligible for additional benefits.<\/p>\n<h4>Educational aid<\/h4>\n<p>Retiree and eligible dependents can take advantage of educational opportunities at any of the three state universities at a reduced tuition rate.<\/p>\n<h4>University Bookstore<\/h4>\n<p>Retirees receive a 10% discount on most purchases at the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.bkstr.com\/webapp\/wcs\/stores\/servlet\/StoreCatalogDisplay?catalogId=10001&amp;langId=-1&amp;demoKey=d&amp;storeId=15828\">bookstore<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h4>Recreation Center and Wall Aquatic Center<\/h4>\n<p>Retirees may continue to receive discounted prices at the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/in.nau.edu\/campusrecreation\/recreation-center\/\">Recreation Center<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0<a title=\"Wall Aquatic Center\" href=\"https:\/\/in.nau.edu\/campus-services-and-activities\/wall-aquatic-center\/\">Wall Aquatic Center<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h4>Cline Library<\/h4>\n<p>Many of\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/library.nau.edu\/\">Cline Library&#8217;s<\/a>\u00a0services are available to retirees.<\/p>\n<h4>Parking permit<\/h4>\n<p>Retirees that are members of the\u00a0<a title=\"Northern Arizona University Retirees Association (NAURA)\" href=\"https:\/\/nau.edu\/naura\/\">Northern Arizona University Retirees Association (NAURA)<\/a>\u00a0are eligible for are parking pass.
