At retirement, NAU retirees receive an income benefit from one of the state sponsored retirement plans (ASRS, ORP or PSPRS).<\/p>\n

They may also be eligible to enroll in health care or life insurance. Other benefits such as the tuition reduction benefit are available to eligible retirees.\n<\/div>\n\n

Retirees who were previously covered under NAU’s Retiree PPO with BCBSAZ should call the Medicare Benefits Coordination & Recovery Center at 1‑855‑798‑2627<\/strong> to report their new coverage, whether it’s the State of AZ Retiree PPO<\/strong> or the ASRS Medicare Supplemental Plan<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
When you call, be ready to provide:<\/p>\n

Your name<\/li>\n
Your health or drug plan’s name and address<\/li>\n
Your plan’s policy number<\/li>\n
The date your coverage was added, changed, or ended — and the reason for the change<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

Retirees enrolled in the NAU Supplemental Life Insurance plan through the Hartford were offered the opportunity to elect Retiree Life Insurance for either $10,000 or $15,000 depending on when they retired.<\/p>\n
Retirees pay for coverage annually. In the year of retirement, a pro-rated premium is changed. Coverage is renewed effective January 1st. Billing notices are mailed to the retiree from ASI.<\/p>\n
2024 Annual Premium – Premiums are subject to change.<\/em><\/p>\n

$10,000 – $140<\/li>\n
$15,000 – $215<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
There is no change in the premiums.<\/em><\/p>\n
All payments should be made to ASI at P.O Box 657, Columbia, MO 65205.<\/p>\n

NAU Bookstore<\/strong>: <\/em><\/strong>Retirees receive a discount on most purchases at the NAU bookstore<\/li>\n
Recreation\/Aquatic Center<\/strong>:<\/strong> Retirees may continue to receive discounted prices at these NAU facilities<\/li>\n
Cline Library:<\/strong> Retirees retain employee privileges at NAU’s Cline Library.<\/li>\n
Educational Aid:<\/strong> This program allows retirees and eligible dependents to take advantage of educational opportunities at any of the three state universities at reduced tuition rates.
