Prohibited materials access

Use of University Property policy

Arizona Revised Statute

You are prohibited from accessing sexually-explicit information using a university-owned or leased computer, unless you have written approval from your supervisor to do so.

This policy refers to all university property. Accessing such materials on a university computer from your home is still prohibited.

Request for approval to access prohibited materials

Unintentional access

You are not responsible for materials that you receive unintentionally through e-mail. Delete such e-mails immediately.

You might be able to determine the e-mail contains sexually-explicit material before you open it, by looking at the title. Be careful about opening e-mails from people you do not know.

If you are working with another employee’s computer, and you find such material, delete it. You do not need to report the incident, unless you believe the material might be illegal.
