A project requires IRB review if the study meets both the federal definitions\u00a0(1) research and (2) human subjects.<\/p>\n\n

Timeline<\/strong><\/p>\n
Submissions to the IRB are processed and reviewed on a first-come, first-served basis in the order received. Each submission package, including revisions and amendments, may take up to 30 days for review. The timeline to approval depends on the number of review requests in the queue, category of review, quality and completeness of a submission, revisions required and responsiveness.
