HRPP staff verify training at intake. If training is not completed, the submission package will be withdrawn in 7 days and must be re-submitted.<\/p>\n<p><strong>NAU Researchers:<\/strong>\u00a0Northern Arizona University (NAU) research faculty, staff, advisors and students must complete the NAU human subjects component of the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/about.citiprogram.org\/en\/homepage\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Collaborative Institutional Training Initiative (CITI)<\/a>\u00a0online training program. The IRB CITI training certification is valid for a four-year period, after which time refresher training must be completed. It is recommended that a copy of the completion certificate is printed and maintained. If CITI training was completed prior to 2019, training is valid for a three-year period.<\/p>\n<p>Courses that qualify for the IRB.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Social, Behavioral, and Education Research<\/li>\n<li>Health and Human Services, Biomedical Research<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>External Researchers:<\/strong> Research personnel not affiliated with NAU must also have CITI training. To request NAU CITI affiliation for access to trainings, please email <a href=\"mailto:irb@nau.edu\">irb@nau.edu<\/a> with the person\u2019s first and last name, email address, and which course they plan to take.\u00a0In lieu of the NAU CITI training requirement, NAU may accept documentation of human subjects training completion in accordance with a researchers\u2019 home institutions\u2019 policy.<\/p>\n<h2>CITI program updates<\/h2>\n<p>*New CITI Courses have been added:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Good Clinical Practice (required for NIH funded clinical trials)<\/li>\n<li>Information Privacy and Security in Research<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Training All members of the research team are expected to complete online training prior to conducting any activities related to the human research.
